The hotel opened its doors to the world in 1928 as Bergen's first deluxe hotel - and has since then been through many changes. The present owner has, since 1992, strived to bring the hotel back to its original proud standard. Today you can get a sense of the atmosphere as it was when the Norwegian explorer, Roald Amundsen, stayed at the hotel in 1928. We have a unique hotel, but we also believe that our staff will make your stay pleasant.

We have 131 well-equipped rooms. You can choose between single rooms, double rooms, deluxe rooms and junior suites. Our rooms are equipped with advanced TVs that can also be used for Internet and e-mails.

Ambrosia Bar is in the heart of the hotel. Here you will find comfortable chairs in front of the fireplace. You may enjoy a drink while being inspired by the stylish architecture. The bar is a meeting place for visitors and locals alike. Celebrities have commented that a 'Cafe avec' in the Ambrosia Bar is one of the most romantic experiences imaginable. The Ambrosia gourmet restaurant opened in the spring of 1999 in the hotels "Breakfast Room", and one of our first guests was Queen Sonja. The restaurant is French inspired and has received very good reviews in the press. Here you can have exquisite food in elegant surroundings. The Terminus Cafe has a continental character - here you will find the city's most delicious cakes and open-faced sandwiches. We also offer light warm dishes or dinners.
